Provider and scope
These Terms of Service apply to QR Reader °- Bar Code Scanner (“QR Reader” or the “app”) and the related service provided by Hong Kong Real Joy Technology Limited (“Real Joy”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). Contact us at dev@realjoytech.com.
By using the app or service, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, stop using the service. These terms describe the app service and supplement the licence applicable to your App Store download, including Apple’s Standard End User Licence Agreement where no custom licence is supplied. They do not replace Apple’s applicable usage or purchase conditions.
Publishing these terms does not itself change the licence configured for your App Store purchase, and no provision removes mandatory consumer rights.
Eligibility and permitted use
You must have the legal capacity and any authorisation needed to use the app and make a purchase. If you are a minor, involve a parent or guardian where required by law. Availability and minimum device requirements are shown in the relevant App Store listing.
You may use the app on compatible devices you own or control, subject to the applicable app licence and Apple’s usage rules. You must comply with applicable laws and the terms of services you access through the app.
Scanning and code creation
QR Reader offers QR-code and barcode scanning, code creation, scan history, and related tools. Available features depend on the version and any purchase you make. A scanning result reflects information encoded in a code or returned by a destination or product service; it is not a guarantee that the information is accurate, current, safe, or authentic.
Check a link, recipient, payment instruction, or other destination before acting on a code. The app does not endorse every site or product that appears in a result. Product details and prices supplied by others may change or be incorrect.
Camera scanning requires camera permission. Features using selected images or other device services depend on the relevant access you choose to allow. Refusing a permission may prevent the corresponding feature from working.
Your codes and information
You retain your rights in the information and materials you create or supply. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to scan, encode, store, or share them. These terms do not give us a general licence to use your personal codes or contents for unrelated purposes.
Keep a separate copy of information that matters to you. Device loss, removal of the app, changes to device storage, or your own deletion may affect local history. Sharing or exporting creates copies that may remain with their recipients.
Purchases, trials, and renewal
QR Reader may offer paid features and auto-renewing subscriptions. Available plans, prices, currencies, billing periods, included features, and any trial offer are shown in the app and Apple’s purchase confirmation. Those details apply to your purchase and may vary by region, eligibility, and offer.
Payment is processed through your Apple Account. An auto-renewing subscription continues until you cancel its renewal. If you accept a trial, it may convert to a paid subscription under the conditions shown when you start it. To avoid renewal of a free or discounted trial, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, subject to the applicable offer and Apple’s rules.
Subscription price changes follow Apple’s applicable notice and consent procedures and any mandatory legal requirements. A later discount does not automatically give an earlier purchase a right to price matching; this does not limit statutory refund rights or other mandatory remedies.
Cancellation, restoration, and refunds
To manage or cancel an Apple-billed subscription, open Settings on your device, select your name, open Subscriptions, and choose the relevant subscription. Follow the cancellation instructions shown there. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Cancellation stops future renewal. Any remaining access, trial consequences, or refund eligibility follows the terms shown at purchase, Apple’s rules, and applicable law. Cancelling renewal is different from requesting an immediate refund.
If a purchase is not recognised, make sure you are using the Apple Account that made it and use the app’s restore option where available, or contact us for help. Do not send your Apple password or full payment details. Refund requests for Apple-billed purchases are handled through Apple’s “Report a Problem” service; Apple assesses eligibility under the applicable rules.
Protecting the app and other people
You must not introduce malicious code, misrepresent your identity, misuse support channels, or attempt unauthorised access to systems or information. You must not copy, sell, redistribute, or reverse engineer the app except as allowed by its licence or applicable law.
Real Joy and its licensors retain rights in the app, design, branding, and software. Third-party marks and content remain the property of their respective owners. These terms do not transfer ownership of those materials to you.
Privacy and permissions
The QR Reader Privacy Policy explains the information practices applicable to the app and your privacy choices. Agreement to these terms is not blanket consent to every possible use of personal information. We will request separate permission or provide a specific notice where required.
Apple and other services
The app and related service are provided by Real Joy, not Apple. Real Joy is the contact for app support and is responsible for the app and its content, subject to the applicable licence and law. Apple does not assume a separate obligation to provide our support or maintenance.
Apple’s applicable app licence, purchase conditions, and usage rules continue to apply, including any available warranty-related remedy. Nothing here removes a right available under those terms. Websites, stores, sharing destinations, and services operated by other parties have their own terms, which apply to your dealings with them.
Updates, availability, and support
We may update or modify the app to improve it, maintain compatibility, address security issues, or meet legal requirements. You may need a current compatible version to keep using a feature. We do not promise a particular release date, uninterrupted availability, or a guaranteed support response time.
Send support questions to dev@realjoytech.com, including the app name, device model, version, and a description of the issue. Remove unrelated personal information from screenshots.
Suspension and ending use
You may stop using the app at any time. We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address misuse, security threats, material breaches, or legal requirements. Where appropriate and practicable, we will give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
Discontinuing a feature or restricting access does not remove any mandatory right to a remedy for a paid purchase. Any separate subscription must be managed through the billing platform. Provisions that by their nature continue after use ends, such as ownership and applicable legal rights, continue to apply.
Limitations and consumer rights
We aim to provide a useful and reliable app, but it may contain errors, experience interruptions, or depend on services outside our control. To the extent permitted by law, it is provided on an “as available” basis without a guarantee of suitability for every purpose.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Nothing removes mandatory consumer guarantees, refund rights, or other statutory remedies. Your responsibility to check results and protect your device does not remove obligations imposed on us by applicable law.
Applicable law and resolving concerns
These service terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, subject to the mandatory protections and remedies that apply where you live. They do not require you to give up a forum or procedure available to you under mandatory law.
If you have a concern, contact dev@realjoytech.com so that we can try to resolve it. You remain free to exercise any legal rights available to you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes to the app, service, or legal requirements. We will publish the revised terms here and update their effective date. Material changes will be communicated and any required agreement obtained as appropriate. Changes do not retrospectively remove accrued rights or alter a purchase contrary to applicable law.
